N.E.R.R - The North East Rating Rule.
This system has been designed to register and record measurments for fleets of yachts who wish to race together on a level playing field. Sailing clubs that operate the system appoint a club measurer who keeps the yacht dimensions up to date. The system then calculates a handicap for each yacht which can be used in club or regional racing.
The system is operated by a comittee of experienced yachtsmen who with years of experience keep the rule up to date as yacht design changes the shape of the fleets.
For Yacht Clubs
The system can be adopted and run without cost, which means that the most casual sailor can be encouraged to "Have a go" without the bureaucracy associated with other National systems. For keen racers the system manages to align diverse fleets from 50' keel boats to Sportsboats to smaller cruisers.
For Yacht Club Measurers
Using a secure login the Measurer can keep the fleet up to date online at any location. The new system has been designed to allow it to work on mobile devices.
For Yacht Owners
The system has online information about their own measurments and also repors that can be printed to allow the owner access to how their yacht fairs against the rest of the fleet.
